Suramin - what is it ?

Suramin is an isolated compound originally derived from an extract of pine needles. First synthesised in 1916, Suramin has been used in the medical profession for almost 100 years and was a staple amongst the early settlers in the U.S and Canada.

It was originally used as a treatment for sleeping sickness and river blindness but has since proved effective in treating: parasitic infections, viral diseases, cancer, snakebites, and autism. Suramin has been so impressive it was placed on the WHO list of essential medicines.

The antiviral properties of Suramin have been known of since the mid-20th century when it was effectively used as a treatment for HIV, AIDS, and variations of the Herpes virus.

It is available as a pharmaceutical drug for use only by injection. Surprisingly, Suramin has not been made openly available in these uncertain times even though it is an effective solution for viruses of several varieties along with a host of other conditions. It has recently been studied as a treatment for prostate cancer and is currently undergoing very promising studies as an effective treatment for Autism, ASD, and ADHD.
